Asus PadFone 2 caught on camera
Super-sized smartphone could get an official launch this week

Back in September, we heard some initial details of the Asus PadFone 2. Now we have an image for it, as well as some confirmation of that early specification.

The new details were spotted by The Verge after a video appeared online with an early hands-on. You can view that here. Alternatively, let us tell you that the hands-on confirmed that the sizeable smartphone will come with a 4.7-inch screen and a 13-megapixel camera, both mentioned in that earlier leak. The former was said to be a 1280 x 720 pixel Super IPS+ display, so we can presume that's likely to be correct too.

The previous specification also mentioned a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, full HD video recording and 2GB RAM, none of which are confirmed as yet. You'll have to sit tight and wait for the official launch for the full breakdown.

One other thing that has been revealed is a redesigned PadFone Station, pictured above. Not many details about that as yet, but it should be prominent at the launch, bearing in mind this is a leaked press shot.

Not long to wait, with the official debut of the PadFone 2 possibly as soon as tomorrow, with Asus holding a press event in both Italy and Taiwan. Both of those events should showcase this handset.
