Office 2013 apps could launch early next year

Microsoft manager points to Android and iOS app launch in March 2013
We heard a rumour that it would launch in 2012, but now it seems that Office will be available as an app from early 2013.
At least, that's what Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek has said to the local Czech press. Speaking at an event, he confirmed that Microsoft was planning to release native iOS and Android versions of Office 2013 next year, likely to be March 2013.
That backs up a press sheet seen by The Verge, which said: 'In addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian.' It added that a consumer launch of Office 2013 is down for February – so a March launch for apps makes sense.
So that's all sorted then? Well, not quite. Obviously Microsoft HQ wasn't pleased with the development, so moved swiftly to throw in a counter-statement: 'The information shared by our Czech subsidiary is not accurate. We do not have anything further to share at this time.'
So 'not accurate', but no clear denial that the apps are coming. Maybe the dates are slightly out? Who knows, but productivity could get a whole lot easier in around six months time.
