HTC DLX could take on the Galaxy Note

For some weeks now, a phone going by the name of the HTC One X 5 (pictured above) has been rumoured, and has also been pitched as an upcoming Google phone, possibly the Google Nexus 5. Now specs have been leaked on Twitter from a usually reliable tipster for the HTC DLX, which sounds suspiciously similar to that phone.

What it all indicates is that HTC is very likely to be launching a large phone (or small tablet), perhaps in direct competition to the Samsung Galaxy Note II. But when it will launch is anyone's guess.

So let's look at what we do have. According to Football4PDA on Twitter, HTC's attempt at a super-sized smartphone will include a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, a 5-inch Full HD Display, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB of storage, a 12-megapixel camera on the back, with a 2-megapixel camera on the front and Android 4.1.2 for the operating system, mixing it with the latest version of HTC Sense. Not bad at all.

As for the name, the latest rumour is that the phone will go by the name HTC Droid Incredible X in the US, with the DLX either being a development name or the name being used for other territories. That is, of course, if HTC decides to unleash this Note-bothering smartphone on the rest of the world. If there are any developments on that front, we'll let you know.
