More LG Nexus details emerge

Last week we heard LG was likely to be producing the next Google phone. This week, we have specifications. Or at least, specifications from those infamous 'insiders'.

Yes, the pieces are starting to come together, but there are still a number of blanks to fill in, the biggest of which seems to be the name. LG Nexus seems to be the obvious one, but for now, that's just a presumption. The MoDaCo site, which claims to have the specification of the new Nexus, doesn't even have it. But the words 'LG' and 'Nexus' are likely to be in there somewhere.

The specs are pretty detailed though, culled from 'various sources' and mixing what we would expect with a couple of surprises. For the former, there's the heavily rumoured Android 4.2 operating system, a quadcore Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, a 1280x768 True-HD IPS screen and an 8-megapixel camera. What we perhaps didn't expect is the lack of a microSD slot, a choice of 8GB and 16GB versions only and a non-removable battery.

Of course, with Google dropping hints of multiple flagship Google phones, this could be part of a range of handsets launching before Christmas. Time will tell on that one. Talking of launch dates though, this one is down for mid-November, so still time for someone to think of a name for it.
