Alcatel OneTouch T10 tablet heads to Europe
Budget Android device likely to sell for just over £100

The name Alcatel is synonymous with budget mobile phones in the UK, not least with its One Touch range. Now the company hopes to make similar inroads into the tablet market too, kicking off with the OneTouch T10 tablet.

Yes, a similar name to the smartphones, presumably because this is going in cheap, just like those phones. In fact, if the prices for Europe translate directly for the UK market (never a certainty), we'll be talking just under £105 for this 7-inch tablet, offering serious competition for the likes of the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire on a price level.

Of course, price is only half the story, you want to know just what the tablet can offer. Well, it's a decent offering, the kind of thing you would expect for that kind of money.

It packs a 7-inch (800 x 480) screen, along with a 1GHz single-core Rockchip CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Ice Cream Sandwich for the OS and 4GB of internal storage, which you can boost to 32GB via MicroSD. That's about your lot.

No news of a release date as yet, but when it does, we'll hopefully have a review so you can compare and contrast against the clutch of other budget tablets currently battling for your attention in the run up to Christmas.
