Invite hints at mini Samsung Galaxy S III launch
4-inch smartphone with 'latest' version of Android rumoured

As ever, the invite is cryptic, but it's a certainty that Samsung will be showing off some new hardware at an event launch taking place in Frankfurt on 11 October.

That cryptic message, roughly translated, says: 'So big can be so small. And so small can be so big', which tells us pretty much nothing, except that the new device is likely to have size as a key attribute. The word 'small' is probably key here though.

Rumours have been floating around that Samsung is readying a smaller version of its flagship Galaxy S III smartphone, which fits in nicely with the tagline. It's not exactly miniature though, just a bit smaller.

The specification, if those rumours are to be believed, should include a 4-inch Super AMOLED panel and a 5-megapixel camera, along with the 'latest' version of Android. That's likely to be the most recent iteration of Jelly Bean rather than a complete step up of OS. Google will be keeping that for its own hardware.

Not long to wait until we find out just what is being launched, but with that invite having a prominent 'S' in the background, it's certain to be part of that mobile family, big or small.
