Details of L-Series BlackBerry 10 handset emerge

Last week, we got our first glimpse at the finished versions of RIM's next generation of BlackBerry. Those phones are currently going by the name of the L-Series (touch-screen) and the N-Series (QWERTY), both BlackBerry 10 smartphones. This week, we have the specification for the touch-screen. Next week? Well, if we don't have details of the QWERTY, we will be more than a little shocked.

But for now, let's look at what we do have for the phone pictured above and to your left. The leaked data relates to three different phones, but these are thought to be regional variations of the same phone. The names BlackBerry London (world), BlackBerry Lisbon (Canada) and BlackBerry Laguna (USA) might be used for the launch, but are likely to be working names for developers.

All have features in common, those being a 4.2-inch display with a 1280 x 768 resolution, an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash on the rear of the phone, along with a 2-megapixel networking camera and 1080p video recording. The handsets also include NFC, Wi-Fi and A-GPS, but anyone wanting super-fast connectivity might be disappointed to hear that 4G doesn't get a mention thus far. Still time for that to be added though.

In fact, there's around three months of time, with a rumoured January launch for this and its QWERTY variation.
