Samsung Galaxy Music incoming
Budget phone with Ice Cream Sandwich likely to launch this month

It's certainly no Galaxy S III or Note II, but the Samsung Galaxy Music might be worth a look if finances are tight and you love loud music.

The phone has leaked ahead of a probable launch on 11 October in Frankfurt, where Samsung is hosting a press event. We can't imagine the event is solely for this smartphone. More likely, this is part of the supporting cast for something that has so far stayed under the radar. We'll know for sure in just over a week.

In the meantime, let's look at what we know so far about the Galaxy Music, which is said to be an Android phone running Ice Cream Sandwich at launch, but will receive Jelly Bean later.

It will be offered as both a single and dual-SIM phone, both with a 3-inch LCD screen, dual front speakers (that's the music selling point we would imagine), a 3-megapixel camera, front networking camera, Wi-Fi and GPS. There's also a single-core 850MHz processor, which tells, without doubt, that this is not a premium handset.

Rather, it's likely to be the kind of phone that blasts out your music on public transport in a morning. Yes, we're in fashion phone territory here, with a price to match. Confirmation at that Frankfurt event all being well, the likelihood is that the Galaxy Music will be available in time for Christmas.
