ZTE Blade III smartphone goes public
Could launch in the UK as a network-branded handset

The ZTE Blade III has been unveiled for Scandinavian territories, although it might land here under a slightly different name.

The third-generation Blade phone with Ice Cream Sandwich has been confirmed for Finland and Sweden and is very much in the affordable bracket, with a price equivalent to £140 in Sweden.

It will roll out elsewhere by the end of the year, around a year after the last incarnation made it to these shores. Previous phones have been snapped up by Orange and branded as the San Francisco (I and II). There's every chance this could be the San Francisco III on that same network.

Features will be the same though, with that Ice Cream Sandwich OS joined  by a four-inch WVGA touch display, a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 A processor. There is 2.5GB of on-board storage, well up on previous models, which  can be expanded by up to 32GB using a memory card. Colour options are black or white.

If and when we hear about a UK launch under any time, we'll let you know. That's likely to be around November, we would guess, around a year after the last model launched.
