Acer Iconia Tab A110 gets a UK launch

The 7-inch tablet market just got a little more crowded with the launch of the Acer Iconia Tab A110.

It looks to be in direct competition with the Asus-made Google Nexus 7, both in terms of price and features. There's also the small matter of the new Kindle Fire tablets too. If Apple launches the iPad Mini, it could be a hard sell for Acer, although this should be on the shelves well ahead of the Apple tablet.

To be fair to Acer, this isn't a bad offering at all for the money, not least because it comes with Jelly Bean out of the box. Words we rarely use when referring to a new Android device.

On top of that, there's an Nvidia Tegra 3 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a 7-inch LCM touchscreen with 1024 x 600 resolution, 8GB of internal memory and as a welcome bonus, a microSD card to bump up storage further - a further 32GB to be precise.

Online retailers are offering this for £180, around £20 more than Google's offering, with a shelf date of 1 October.
