Motorola Droid RAZR M heading to UK

It launched in the US just last night, but it now seems almost certain that the Motorola Droid RAZR M will be heading to UK sooner rather than later.

Let's deal with the phone as launched first, which comes with a 4.3-inch qHD (960x540) Super AMOLED Advanced display with Gorilla Glass coating, paired with a Kevlar-coated back. There's also a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, an eight-megapixel rear snapper able to record 1080p video, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing lens for networking, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD slot.

It will also feature NFC connectivity and run on Ice Cream Sandwich, with an update to Jelly Bean before the year is out. It hits the US market next week, but what about the UK? It could also be here pretty soon.

According to Pocket-lint, a Motorola spokesman at the launch mentioned that the phone was definitely coming to the UK, but with a slightly tweaked spec. The main difference is the processor, with that Snapdragon chip being replaced by an Intel processor. It should have a name change too, but aside from that, it will be the same phone.

Motorola is launching a new handset in conjunction with Intel later this month, so it's likely to be this very handset that gets shown off, almost certainly going by the name of the Motorola Edge. With that in mind, expect it on the shelves well ahead of the festive season and expect a report from that launch in less than two weeks.
