Render and more details of Windows Phone 8 smartphone emerge
It was first mentioned as far back as June, but now the phone currently described as the HTC Accord (but possibly not launching as that) has been caught on camera.
OK, not quite on camera. This is actually a leaked render courtesy of a Twitter post, and though it's running Windows Phone 7 in the snap, is said to be a new phone, complete with a bold new colour scheme. A hint at what HTC might have in store to catch the eye with its Windows Phone 8 offerings.
The new detail on offer here is a 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8960 chip, with previous leaks pointing to a 4.3-inch 720p Super LDC 2 display, an eight-megapixel camera with 1080p capture, microSD card support and NFC connectivity. More to come, but that gives you a fair idea of where the Accord will stand in the range, which is somewhere near the top.
Samsung has already shown off its new Windows Phone 8 offering, courtesy of the Ativ S, and we expect Nokia to show off its upcoming launches this week, namely the Nokia Lumia 920 PureView and Lumia 820. With that in mind, don't be surprised to see HTC show off its upcoming Windows stable in the near future, with up to three handsets expected when it does.
