HANDS ON: Lenovo IdeaPad preview

We get our mitts on Lenovo’s new flagship tab
Lenovo has revealed three new Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablets in Berlin – a 10-inch, nine-inch and seven-inch model.
The IdeaPad S2110A is the new flagship model, a 10-inch model that comes complete with an optional keyboard dock, something we’re now well used to (the number of dockable/keyboard tablets at IFA has far outweighed those without). As with the new Asus Vivo tabs, the IdeaPad S2110A’s dock has a secondary battery built in.
Impressively, Lenovo suggests we will get a mighty 20 hours of battery life from these two batteries – although this is based on average, moderate use, so expect a lot less if you’re going to be watching movies or playing games.
Speaking of playing games, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor means you can play the latest titles: we had a quick play with Horn and weren’t surprised to see it running smoothly and looking fantastic on the 1280x800-pixel resolution screen.
A rear-facing five-megapixel camera can be used to take photos, while a front-facing 1.3-megapixel snapper is available for video calls. You can nab a 16GB or 32GB version, but you’ll need the keyboard dock, which has a built-in SD card slot, to expand it.
The IdeaTab A2109A is the nine-inch model, also boasting quad-core power and a 1280x800-pixel resolution display. The smaller IdeaTab A2107A is a seven-incher, with a 720p screen and 3G support.
There is no UK release date or pricing for the IdeaTabs yet, but we’ll bring you details and a full review very soon.
