Earlier this year, we reviewed the ZTE Grand X, finding it to be a well-priced smartphone, but lacking when it came to both camera and battery life. The ZTE Grand X IN might well deal with those inadequacies. That subtle name change is for good reason. This is ZTE's first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with an Intel chip inside, specifically the low power Intel Atom Z2640 processor Z2460 with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology. Hopefully that can help with those battery problems. The camera has had an upgrade too, now with a 'best-in-class' eight-megapixel camera. Throw in an improved 1650mAh, Li-Ion battery and you would swear ZTE had been reading the old reviews. This could well be a contender.Other notable features on offer include a 4.3-inch, 16 million colour screen and Blu-ray quality movie playback, along with Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, DLNA and Mobile HD link (via Micro USB) short range connectivity. Audio-wise, it comes with Dolby Sound, HD Video Capture and HD Voice.'The Grand X IN is ZTE’s first flagship smartphone in Europe to feature Intel Inside, and we look forward to building our partnership with Intel,' said Mr. Ao Wen, VP of Europe operations for ZTE Handsets. 'The handsets in the ZTE Grand portfolio are quality devices focused on providing a great level of service and, with the inclusion of Intel’s technology in the Grand X IN, we have provided a handset with enhanced capabilities, reliability and performance.'If all of that ticks the boxes, you will be pleased to know that the ZTE Grand X IN will be launched in Europe in September. No news on price or networks, but we expect the phone to be competitively-priced at the very least.
