Sony Xperia J detailed ahead of launch

Russian site gets hands-on with the mid-range Android phone
It's likely to be unveiled next week, as part of a new range of Xperia handsets from Sony. But the Sony Xperia J has already found its way onto Russian site Mobile Review, which has rather helpfully posted some images of the phone and details of its inner workings.
It all points to a mid-range smartphone (possibly even lower than that), which is likely to sell for around £120 when it hits UK markets. Or on a rather modest contract if you want to go the monthly route. Either way, this is no flagship, that's for sure.
We know that because of the leaked specification, which points to a 1GHz single-core Snapdragon S1 processor powering the phone. It also comes with a four-inch FWVGA LCD display, 512MB of RAM, a five-megapixel camera, microSD support, a front-facing lens for video calls, 3G/Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0.
Android, as you might expect, for the operating system, with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and the possibility of a jump up to Jelly Bean later in the year. Talking of later in the year, that's when this phone will be on the shelves of your favoured network. We should get more concrete details when IFA kicks off next week. Hopefully Sony will also tempt us with higher-end hardware than the Xperia J. That's the theory anyway.
