Sony Xperia T will be James Bond phone
14 Aug 2012
Likely to launch alongside Sony Xperia TX
They have had provisional names of the Xperia Hayabusa and Xperia Mint, but the Sony Xperia TX and Xperia T are the respective launch names of Sony's latest smartphones. What's more, James Bond could be showing them off in a matter of weeks.
That's according to the Know Your Mobile site, which confirms the specification we have previously seen for the Xperia T and offers up details of the TX smartphone.
The Xperia TX is said to feature a 4.6-inch, 720p resolution LCD touch-screen, Sony’s BRAVIA Mobile engine, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 'curvy' 8.6mm thick unibody shell. The Xperia T will have a 'blockier' design, similar to the recently launched Xperia Go, but will have a similar spec to the TX including a Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon MSM8960 dual-core CPU with the same 1.5GHz clockspeed and 1GB of RAM. The display will also be slightly smaller at 4.3 inches.
However, the Xperia T will have one very big plus, reportedly featuring in the upcoming James Bond movie Skyfall. No one is quite sure whether this is the phone Daniel Craig himself will be using, but it's likely to be a tie-in, which also points to a launch well ahead of the movie, due in cinemas in October.
Both handsets will also feature 13-megapixel Exmor R cameras and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Almost certain to have an IFA launch at the end of the month, we'll be there when the official story breaks.
