APP WATCH: BBC iPlayer for iOS get an update
Retina graphics come to the iPad

It certainly isn't a new app, but if you have the latest generation of iPad, BBC iPlayer might look like a new one.

That's because the latest version of the app (1.3.2) brings retina graphics compatibility to the party, which means your favourite shows on the BBC and of course, the interface, will look so much better on that device.

But don't think owners of other iOS devices have been ignored – there are a few other improvements thrown into the mix. Streaming in general is improved for all iOS devices, presumably streaming shows more efficiently with less buffering. Always a good thing. The BBC also says it has improved accessibility, including more voice over controls to make it even easier to enjoy BBC iPlayer's content.

Finally, as ever, there are 'bug fixes and general tidying', which should improve overall performance of the app. What those fixes are isn't clear, we'll just take their word on it.

The app is free of course, just head to the App Store or update your existing app for the improved version.
