Samsung Galaxy Note II images appears online

Two stories have surfaced about the heavily-rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note II, which is set to launch this month, one of which includes a photo of the new device.

Samsung has somehow managed to leak its own device, courtesy of the Samsung Pakistan page. The leaked image was described as the Samsung Galaxy S III, which it obviously isn't. In fact, it's very similar to a leaked shot that was doing the rounds some time back.

The page later disappeared, then reappeared captioned as the Galaxy Note, before disappearing once and for all. Not before the photo was downloaded by several people, obviously. Damage done. Although it's not really damage, as the image just adds to the hype ahead of the 29 August launch.

As for that launch, nothing's really changed, except for one significant thing. According to the Sam Mobile site and an 'insider', the Samsung Galaxy Note II will be showcased at IFA 2012, but the test software right now is Android 4.0. That insider 'isn't sure' if Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Note II with Android 4.0 or Android 4.1, but it seems likely that it will opt for Ice Cream Sandwich, then upgrade the OS alongside the other Samsung phones a month or so later.

Not great news, but not totally unexpected either.
