Could get IFA launch as next flagship Sony phone
It first broke cover last month, but the phone once known as the Sony LT30p Mint could get an official launch at the end of this month, at the IFA trade event.
That name, as you might have guessed, is likely to change too. The new name for this handset should be the Sony Xperia T and it could well be the new Sony flagship phone. Time will tell on that one.
In the meantime, new images of the phone have appeared online, via the Bulgarian Nixanbal site. They look very much like the finished article, hence the speculation that the phone could launch as soon as the end of this month – possibly even sooner.
There's also a slight change to the specification, with the handset now said to come with a 4.6-inch screen, complete with 720p HD resolution. It's also expected to feature a 13-megapixel camera that can shoot 1080p HD video, a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and an SD card slot for expandable memory. The Android operating system isn't specified, but you suspect it will launch with Ice Cream Sandwich.
The big day for this is likely to be 29 August, with a shelf date of sometime before Christmas. We'll be reporting live from IFA to bring you the big news from the launch!
