iPad Mini caught on camera

iPad Mini caught on camera
But images of seven-inch tablet could be fake

Yes, we know these might not be the real deal, but images of what is said to be an iPad Mini do add more weight to the argument that Apple is about to launch a miniature tablet.

The images come from Chinese social media site Sina Weibo and are said to be legitimate images of parts from the new iPad. Why are we sceptical? Just because the account isn't exactly busy and hasn't got any kind of Apple-related track record. With that in mind, you might want to take this with a pinch of salt.

It doesn't tell us much, apart from the tablet currently being in production. Except maybe for one thing. There is no camera hole here, which could mean no camera on the budget iPad. Saying that, these could be early production parts, with the camera being added later.

We might find out soon, with Apple rumoured to be launching a new iPhone on 12 September, with the iPad Mini a possible launch on the same day too. Although others have speculated a later launch nearer to Christmas. Either way, the mini version of the iPad will continue to be big news as we all play the guessing games ahead of any launch.
