iPhone 5 rumoured for 12 September

I think we are all expecting the new iPhone to launch in September, but on what day? 12 September is the date that keeps coming up.

AllThingsD is the latest site to point to 12 September, with 'sources' claiming Apple is currently planning an event for the week of 9 September, likely to be held on the Wednesday.

That's the same date we heard last week via that accessory manufacturer and it is also the same date rumoured from another source yesterday. The iMore site also cited reliable sources, who pointed at a 12 September launch for both the iPhone 5 and possibly the new iPad Mini, along with a new take on the iPod touch.

The AllThingsD article also points out that Apple’s latest prepayment for inventory components rose $1.15bn 'sequentially' in the June quarter – putting those payments at their highest level for four years. That's said to be a good indicator of a potential launch. Or possibly a pair of big launches.

Need more convincing? Neither do we. A new Apple product is imminent and we can't wait to see it.
