Google Nexus 7 heads to Carphone Warehouse

Friday 27 July is the date for your diary if you want a Google tablet. Yes, tomorrow you can get your hands on a Google Nexus 7 at Carphone Warehouse, if you missed out online.

Pre-orders online via Google came and went, with demand outstripping supply. That means, if you didn't order the Nexus 7 ahead of the launch date, you're likely to be hanging about now, wondering where to get one.

Well, wonder no more and get down to your local Carphone Warehouse store. Alternatively, you can order one online from the retailer if you can wait a few more days. If you are planning on heading down to your local store, it’s perhaps worth putting a call in first too. After all, there's no word on stock levels, and we don't want you to make a wasted journey.

Speaking about the launch and tablet, Carphone Warehouse CCO Graham Stapleton said: 'It's interesting to see that despite larger 10-inch tablets dominating the market, Google is forging ahead with its own seven-inch model.

'A smaller tablet has yet to prove itself in a category dominated by bigger screens, but if anyone can make it happen, Google can. I'm sure the other leading tablet manufacturers will be watching closely and be ready to follow suit in the coming months.'

You can find out all about the Nexus 7 here. We don't get music, magazines or TV show content in the UK, but it still looks good value at £199.99 for the 16GB model. As a bonus, you can also get it for 'free' on a contract, which sets you back £20.50 per month.
