Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite breaks cover
Seven-inch tablet likely to challenge the Nexus 7 on price

The original MediaPad appeared last year and was priced pretty competitively. We suspect the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite will be much the same.

Huawei has officially announced the new tablet, although not all the details are available as yet, the price included. But judging by the size and the manufacturer, we suspect this will be another challenger in the ever-growing budget tablet market. With an iPad Mini on the horizon, it certainly isn't going to be the last either.

But let's focus on what we do know. This is an Android tablet (Ice Cream Sandwich initially) with a seven-inch display packing a 1280x800 resolution. 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity is included, as is a rear camera (resolution unknown), all of which is packed into a metal unibody.

Aside from that, we know nothing. More specifics will no doubt appear when the UK launch details are firmed up – and this is likely to come to the UK. As soon as we hear anything, we'll let you know.
