Asus Transformer Pad Infinity to get UK launch
25 Jul 2012
64GB HD tablet available for £599.99 from August
Yesterday, we mentioned it was getting a Jelly Bean update, despite the fact that the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity hasn't yet been launched in the UK. From August, all of that will change.
Asus has now confirmed that its high-end tablet will finally land on these shores next month. It even has a price, which is £599.99 at Amazon for the 64GB model. The Transformer Pad Infinity comes complete with the all-important dock/keyboard, should you be missing your PC.
That's not the only selling point here either. This is the world's first Full HD Android tablet with a 1920x1200-pixel Super IPS+ display and Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It also packs a Nvidia Tegra 3 T33 4-PLUS-1 quad-core CPU, an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus and LED flash, a two-megapixel networking camera and SonicMaster audio technology for 'immersive and lifelike' audio.
For the design lovers out there, the tablet has a metallic spun finish and a choice of two colours – Amethyst Gray and Champagne Gold. If all of that appeals, get your pre-order in at Amazon now. That Jelly Bean update will follow, but probably not until the autumn. So it's Android 4.0 when you get it, unless Asus decides to ship the new OS at launch. Don't bank on it though.
