Samsung could launch Galaxy Note II in August

15 August press event should see Note sequel get public unveil
This is said to be 'confirmed', so we're treating the launch details of the Samsung Galaxy Note II as very likely rather than a possibility.
That's according to the BGR site, which claims to have had official word on the launch. Initially, the notification was a 'major' new Galaxy device, but that has now been upgraded to the Note II. 15 August is the launch date, which is a couple of weeks sooner than the previously rumoured 30 August date. Maybe rumours of an earlier iPhone launch are true after all? If so, it would make sense for Samsung to bring their own launch forward.
Details of the launch, including the location, are yet to be confirmed, but some details of the smartphone have been leaked previously. If they are correct, the new Note will feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a quad-core Exynos processor. There's also talk of a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera too.
The phone should be on the shelves in September, although that's likely to vary from country to country. We'll have details on the networks on launch day, all being well.
