HTC readying Jelly Bean for One XL and One S

Australian network claims upgrades incoming on update page
We were more than impressed by Jelly Bean in our recent review, so we obviously would like to see it on as many phones as possible as soon as possible. As ever, the hardware makers have been slow to confirm any upgrades, but it looks like HTC could be one of the first off the mark.
According to a support page from Australian mobile network Telstra, the HTC One XL and One S could be about to feel the Jelly Bean love. The network has issued an updated status for both handsets in relation to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It says: 'HTC is preparing an update but is yet to confirm the date it will be submitted for Telstra testing'.
That means, in effect, that HTC is working with the new OS to get compatibility with those two phones. Once done, it will go to the network for their own add-ons, then back to HTC (and to Google) for a final write-off. So not exactly a swift process.
But at least you know that it is coming. As for other devices in the HTC roster, don't go writing those off just yet. This announcement only relates to phones carried by Telstra – other phones might also be getting the upgrade. Watch out for an announcement relating to that as and when someone lets it slip.
