Huawei Ascend P1 finally confirmed for UK

First seen at CES back in January, the Huawei Ascend P1 has finally been confirmed for a UK launch.

That launch will be in August, via the Vodafone network. If you want a 'free' one, you can sign up for a £26 contract, which is all well and good. But we suspect you want to know what kind of phone you get for that monthly outlay.

Well, you get a particularly skinny Android smartphone (just 7.69mm thin, which isn't quite as thin as the P1 S) launching with Ice Cream Sandwich rather than Jelly Bean. No word about an upgrade as yet.

On top of that, there's a Cortext-A9 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass, plus an eight-megapixel camera with auto-focus, LED flash and Full HD recording ability. You also get a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, along with HSDPA, DLNA and  Wi-Fi connectivity. There's 4GB of storage inside, but a microSD card slot will expand that if you need more capacity.
