Motorola Motosmart gets a UK launch

If you like the idea of an Android smartphone, but don't want to push yourself into the red paying for one, the Motorola Motosmart could be worth a look.

It is what you might want to call an 'affordable' or entry-level option. Either way, you'll be paying less, but compared to the cutting edge handsets, you do get a lot less.

Anyway, let's not focus on what you don't get, we'll look at what you do get. That includes a 3.5-inch touch-screen with a 480x320-pixel resolution, a three-megapixel camera, a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, 512MB RAM and a rather paltry 165MB of internal memory, although you can bump that up to 32GB via the microSD slot

Software wise, we're talking Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Motorola's own MotoSwitch software for the interface. T-Mobile will be selling this from the end of July, with the handset free for a £7 monthly fee over 24 months or available as a pay-as-you-go smartphone for £99.99.
