Samsung Galaxy Beam now shipping in the UK
09 Jul 2012
£389.99 SIM-free with contract deals available from next week
There was talk of a June launch, but it has taken a week or so into July for the Samsung Galaxy Beam to hit the UK.
If you want one SIM-free, you can get one now, with online retailer Expansys offering the phone for £389.99. If you'd prefer to get a contract deal, it looks like next week is the date for that. Carphone Warehouse has a host of deals with Orange, all of which see the phone shipping from 16 July. As a guide, if you want one for free, £31 per month gets you 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB of data.
For that, you get a phone with one significant selling point – a projector capable of providing a 50-inch display. Aside from that, the phone seems pretty ordinary, with a dual-core 1GHz processor, four-inch WVGA screen, Android 2.3 Gingerbread (yes, really), 8GB internal memory, a five-megapixel camera, 2000mAh battery and a microSD card slot.
If that appeals, get your order in now. If you want to know more, check out our initial report here.
