Facebook App Center now in the UK
New Europe-specific apps also added for UK launch

We heard about its launch last month, but it's only now that the Facebook App Center has gone live in the UK.

Yes, you can now get some curated app shopping via the social network and via your mobile phone in this country. So expect app suggestions to come your way, based on ratings and the apps your Facebook buddies are already using, along with all the other data Facebook has on you.

Around 600 were available at the US launch, but the UK launch has its own slant in terms of content – the music site Deezer, for example, is added to the mix for the European launch. Saying that, the likes of Pinterest, Nike+ GPS and Draw Something are still likely to be the biggest pulls via Facebook.

The Facebook App Center is available now as an app for both Android phones and iOS devices, free of course. Expect this to be a first step to something much bigger, especially with talk of a Facebook phone again rearing its head, not to mention increased Facebook integration when iOS 6 is rolled out.
