Three introduces the Euro Internet Pass

Worried about coming back from holiday with a large mobile bill, as well as a heavy tan? You might want to investigate the Euro Internet Pass from Three.

OK, it depends on you going on holiday in the European Union, but you get the point. From today, Three pay monthly customers can buy the pass via a text link once they arrive in their chosen destination. Then, for a fiver a day, they can browse the net or update social networks without any limit.

Three marketing director Thomas Malleschitz said: 'We love the mobile internet at Three and we want our customers to enjoy it on holiday as much as they do at home. The Euro Internet Pass gives our customers the freedom to use the internet in the EU without having to think about how many megabytes or gigabytes they are using or where the nearest Wi-Fi hotspot is.

'We’ve been campaigning for lower data roaming rates and welcome the new regulation from Europe. These changes promote competition and allow us to offer our customers a better deal so they no longer have to worry about running up a massive bill when using the internet'.

The pass lasts until midnight (UK time) on the day of purchase and is designed for browsing, so streaming 'may not be as good as it is' on the UK network. So if you fancy watching soaps abroad, you might be a little disappointed.
