Well, that was quick. Not long after Sony launched a Facebook promotion to bring forward its latest phone launch, the Sony Xperia miro officially breaks cover. We're guessing the campaign was a big success overnight. Not that everyone is blown away by the end product, with the mid-range smartphone hardly breaking new ground. But if you love social networking it could still be for you.Details are fairly limited so far, but the phone is said to offer up a 3.5-inch touch-screen display, a five-megapixel camera with 30fps video shooting and a front-facing video camera ('chat cam') for networking. It runs Google's Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, alongside Sony's NXT software. As for the social side, it's all about closer ties with Facebook, the miro expanding Facebook Inside Xperia for even closer integration with the social network, especially with contacts, the gallery and the music player. That looks to be the big selling point here, alongside customisable illuminations working alongside those Facebook updates, which points to the phone being pitched very much at the teen market. It's destined for Europe in a choice of black, black/pink, white and white/gold, but as yet, there are no details on a date or price. If you want to know more, there's a video that showcases the phone, which you can watch here.
