HTC Desire V makes its debut

Based very much on the Desire C, the HTC Desire V has been announced for Europe, although specific UK details haven't yet been released.

The phone has one distinct selling point – it's a dual-SIM smartphone, the first from HTC. So if you like the idea of sharing a phone or splitting your work/leisure life into two easy-to-manage parts, this could be the phone for you.

It looks like a decent Android phone too, especially if the price is right. Running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with the Sense 4 interface, the inner workings offer a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM but just 4GB of internal storage, although there is a microSD card slot and 25GB of storage via Dropbox. Other specs include a four-inch WVGA display and a five-megapixel camera with LED flash.

The phone has been announced for the Ukraine market, presumably to tie in with the start of Euro 2012. No details of a UK launch, but when those come through we'll let you know.
