Facebook integration coming to iOS 6

Twitter integration is already deep into iOS 5, but for the next incarnation of Apple's mobile operating system, Facebook could have a heavy presence too.

According to 9to5Mac, previous gossip about Apple and Facebook engineers working in collaboration seems to be bearing fruit, with Facebook integration being a key part of the upcoming iOS 6.

According to sources 'familiar with the Facebook integration', the social network's presence in the new operating system will be 'very similar to Twitter’s integration that launched with iOS 5'.

The biggest presence is said to be in the iOS Photos application, with easy posting of your newly-taken snaps to the Facebook network. There's also said to be a single sign-on section for all Facebook connected applications in iOS 6 system and interaction with Apple's App Store.

With that, there's a new feature called 'App Liking'. Inside individual application pages on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch App Store will be a standard Facebook 'Like' button. If a user is logged into Facebook via iOS Settings, these app 'Likes' will be sent to their Facebook Timelines, with the option of an accompanying status message.

Whether this is good or bad depends on your view of Facebook and its importance in your life. If you are a keen Facebook user, it's likely to be a big plus.
