Acer Iconia A510 Olympic Tab heads to the UK

The Samsung Galaxy S III might be the official Olympics phone, but Acer is hoping to tempt you into some bigger tech, producing the Acer Iconia A510 Olympic Tab.

The tablet itself, aside from sporting that all-important Olympics logo on the rear, doesn't seem a lot different to the Acer Iconia A510 seen around for the past few months. Although once you turn it on, you'll find a trial period of Eurosport's channels for the duration of the Games. Saying that, the BBC is offering tablet-friendly coverage of the event, so not a great bonus.

In terms of the specification, the tablet offers Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, as well as a 10.1-inch IPS touch-screen, Nvidia 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, five-megapixel camera with HD 720p video, Dolby Mobile 3+ audio with premium 5.1-channel HD output and microSD storage support up to 32GB.

Acer has hinted that this won't be the last of its Olympic-themed devices by saying: 'The Iconia Tab A510 Olympic Games Edition starts a series of products that Acer designed specially for the Olympic Games in London.'

But if you want this one, Carphone Warehouse will be selling it for £349.99 SIM-free, although there's no shelf date as yet. Before the Olympics starts, that's for sure.
