Sony Xperia U available on Three
21 May 2012
Dual-core Android smartphone is going for £179.99
If Sony's brilliantly media-centric Xperia S was too rich for your blood, its slinkier, more 'affordable' little bro is now available on data-friendly network Three.
The Xperia U is the new dual-core Android Gingerbread phone in Sony's Xperia line, packing a 3.5-inch screen with Sony's Mobile BRAVIA HDTV tech.
The camera is all pimped out, with a five-megapixel Exmor R sensor and 1.5 second shutter for near-instanaeous image capture.
And like the Xperia S, the chin to the phone is customisable via a range of replaceable colour caps.
It's available on Three for a wallet-friendly price of £179.99 on pay-as-you-go, and from free on a £15 contract.
Pay-as-you-go customers can grab the All in One 15 for £15 and 30-day access to all-you-can-eat data along with 300 any-network minutes and 3,000 texts. Or All in One 25 for £25 and 500 minutes, 3,000 texts and all-you-can-eat data for a 30-day period.
Contract buyers who use the mobile web only occasionally can grab Essential Internet 100 or 500 for £15 or £20 per month respectively - both plans offer 250MB data internet per month. If you use the web a lot though, it's worth thinking about a level up to The One Plan for all-you-can-eat data.
The Sony Xperia U is available from Three from 22 May.
