First spotted at the MWC event in February, the Asus Transformer Pad has just been confirmed for a UK launch. It's another tablet and a sequel of sorts from last year's Asus Eee Pad Transformer, offering that same mobile dock that transforms your tablet into something like a notebook, throwing in 15 hours of battery life when docked too, not to mention a full QWERTY keyboard, multi-touch touchpad and USB/SD Card ports. Best of both worlds, if you like. The tablet itself will be offered in three colour options (Royal Blue, Iceberg White and Torch Red) and comes with a powerful Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, an integrated 12-core GeForce GPU, Asus SonicMaster technology for top-end audio, an eight-megapixel auto-focus camera and the Android 4.0 operating system (Ice Cream Sandwich). So certainly no slouch as a standalone tablet, that's for sure. It's also just 9.9mm thin and weighs 635g.If all of that appeals, the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T (to use its full name) will be priced at £399 for the bundle configuration, which includes that mobile keyboard dock, but only in the Royal Blue finish. You'll be able to order one online from early May at the websites of both Currys and PC World, with the tablet available from late May in those retailer's stores. The remaining two colours will be avaiable from late June onwards.
