Samsung Galaxy S III appears in online video

Well, we knew it couldn't stay hidden forever, but we didn't expect the Samsung Galaxy S III to sneak out in an online video on a Vietnamese website.

That's what seems to have happened though, weeks ahead of an expected official unveiling. Vietnamese site Tinhte has been showing off the GT-I9300, which is said to be the working name of the Samsung Galaxy S III.

As well as images (you can see one of them on this very page), there's some specification detail confirmed too. The site claims the phone packs a 4.6-inch display at 720x1184 resolution, a quad-core 1.4GHz processor, Ice Cream Sandwich for the OS, 1GB of RAM, an eight-megapixel camera, 16GB of storage and a microSD slot. NFC will be built-in, too.

On the image, there's a plastic rim surrounding the whole device, so as not to ruin the surprise of the final look. That could be a neat 'get out clause' for this not being the phone, but the general consensus seems to be that this is the real deal.

Samsung obviously isn't saying yes or no, but it did answer one question when asked about the phone: 'We will be able to tell you more at the 2012 Samsung Mobile Unpacked.'

Yes, the Galaxy S III, as expected, will be launched at the upcoming launch event in London on 3 May. So not too long to wait for the official shots and a hands-on.
