iOS 6 for launch on 11 June
23 Mar 2012
Mystery conference booked in San Francisco for June could see the launch of iOS 6 at Apple's WWDC
Attention all Apple fans, iOS 6 could be on the way in the second week of June if tradition is anything to go by.
That's when we expect Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference to be held after the Moscone Center in San Francisco was booked for an unspecified 'conference meeting'. Apple used the same venue last year to unveil iOS 5 so it wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest the update will be the star attraction this year. Before you get too excited however, history tells us that it's unlikely to be a full release. With the iPhone 5 in development, we expect a preview and developer release first to iron out the full version for the new handset launch towards the back end of the year.
Mac users will likely see a full version of Mac OS X Mountain Lion released at the conference after its preview at the end of last year.
