Sony MT27i Pepper smartphone leaks online

It has been mentioned in a previous Sony roadmap, but the  Sony Xperia Pepper never actually launched at the recent MWC event. It should be launching very soon though.

An image and a benchmark test have been spotted by the Pocketnow site, showing a phone that's unlikely to be troubling the top of the range. In fact, it's expected to be the successor to the Neo V, which pitches it firmly in the middle of the range.

Specifically, that means a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 3.7-inch FWVGA screen (480x854 pixels) and a five-megapixel camera. The image also shows those Sony Smart Tags (as first seen on the Xperia S), which means there is NFC connectivity here too. No mention of the version of Android, but Android wil be the OS for sure.

Don't expect that Sony Pepper name to stick when the phone launches, a single letter seems to be the current naming protocol for Sony. But do expect it to launch very soon. When it does, you'll be the first to know.
