HTC One X and HTC One S are upcoming launches

We mentioned the other day that the HTC Endeavor was setting new records for name changes. Well, it now looks like it has finally settled on the right one, with HTC Ville also getting a new name ahead of HTC's MWC launch event.

The phone most recently known as the HTC Endeavor will be known as the HTC One X. That's according to Pocketnow and its insiders, who claim that the 'X' will be placed as superscript above the word 'One' for branding purposes. It also adds weight to its argument by revealing that a HTC contractor has secured a Danish URL for a microsite using that very name, a name that was part trademarked in Europe last year.

The specification is just the same, with Ice Cream Sandwich for the OS and other features including a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, 720p resolution display, eight-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel networking camera, Dropbox integration, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 and Beats Audio software.

Still not convinced about the name? Well, independent of that story, the SlashGear site is claiming a similar name change for the HTC Ville. First rumoured back in November, the super-slim Ville will be launched as the HTC One S, which is based on company branding spotted by that website. Again, details of the specification are as previously rumoured, which means a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, 4.3-inch qHD display and the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Both the One X and One S are likely to launch with HTC Sense 4.0 too.

An additional phone, a tablet and possibly a music service are also rumoured for HTC's showcase at the MWC event. Look out for all of it in just a couple of weeks.
