LG Optimus Vu breaks cover

Not the best picture you'll see sadly, but the image does the job of showing off the headline feature of the LG optimus Vu.

It's the screen, of course. According to a Korean video of the handset, the Vu packs a five-inch display with an unusual 4:3 aspect ratio, which gives the smartphone something of a chunky look. That video (which you can see here) doesn't give much more away to be honest, but thankfully, a couple of other sites have a few more details to throw into the mix.

The sites Datacider and Google Pad between them believe that the specification includes a 1024x768px IPS display with that 4:3 aspect ratio, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, an eight-megapixel camera and NFC support. The Android OS sadly isn't Ice Cream Sandwich – it's said to be launching with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

That last point perhaps indicates an imminent launch. Landing at MWC? Possibly. If it does, we should find out the UK launch details and networks not long after.
