Details of Samsung Galaxy S Advance emerge

Just to back up what we said about Samsung having other devices ready to launch instead of the Galaxy S III, Samsung looks to have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 ready to go, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S Advance.

The phone has previously been rumoured as the GT-I9070, but that's obviously an in-house reference number from Samsung. It certainly looks the part, but anyone looking to upgrade their Galaxy S II will be sorely disappointed. Not least because this doesn't even match up to that. You'll just have to wait for the Galaxy S III.

The features point to a mid-range handset, but with a 1GHz dual-core processor, curved four-inch Super AMOLED WVGA (800x480) display, five-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, 1500mAh battery, 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom and, disappointingly, Android 2.3.6 for the operating system.

This is almost certainly one of the support acts at the Samsung event, but further proof that the manufacturer will have a significant presence at the MWC showcase. Even if the headline act is still to confirm.
