You might well have heard the name ZTE recently in relation to the budget ZTE Tania Windows Phone. But the Chinese company isn't tied to just the one platform. It also has a budget Android tablet coming out, going by the name of the ZTE Light Tab 2.The tablet is heading to the UK at the end of February, with online retailer Clove offering the device for £234.99, should you want to get your order in early. Good value? That depends on the kind of device you're looking for.The 12.6mm-thick Light Tab 2 packs a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS as well as a front-facing networking camera and a rear-facing 3.2-megapixel snapper. You also get 4GB of internal storage, which you can expand via a microSD card slot. So far, so good.On the reverse, the tablet only comes with Android Gingerbread, so you can forget about that BBC News app for Android tablets for a start. No mention of an OS upgrade to follow either. The screen is a seven-inch capacitive touch-screen display, which isn't exactly a selling point. The bottom line is that you tend to get what you pay for. The ZTE Light Tab 2 doesn't pretend to be the best tablet out there, but it covers the basics and has a decent price point. Which are two very big plus points.
