HTC Primo specification revealed

It looks like the HTC press team is in for a busy late February, with a clutch of high profile launches likely at the MWC event, which takes place at the end of that month. We discussed the HTC Endeavour last week, along with a brief mention of the HTC Primo. Not much was known about that phone at the time, but a more in-depth specification has now come to light.

According to an 'anonymous tipster', this is said to be a budget companion to the previously-mentioned Endeavour and the super-skinny HTC Ville, although that's all relative. Don't expect this to come in under £200. But do expect a decent set of features. That includes a slim profile (9mm), a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass protection and, impressively, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich straight out of the box, alongside HTC Sense 4.0.

You'll also find a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM, a five-megapixel camera (which also shoots 720p HD video) with f/ 2.0 aperture and dual shutter mode, the latter allowing you to take stills while filming HD video. It's also equipped with Beats Audio technology, should you like your music with a little more depth on the move. No mention of free headphones to go with it though.

The photo is a mock up, so is likely to change considerably at launch. But you get the idea. It's likely to be playing a supporting role at the big HTC event at MWC, but if finances are a little tight, it certainly sounds like a phone worth considering.
