Samsung Galaxy S II HD coming to UK?

With a trade show on the horizon, there's always likely to be a glut of new phone leaks around, some with more merit than others. The Samsung Galaxy S II HD is, however, more than just a leak, as it has launched for the US market previously. But now it seems like it is heading to the UK too.

It's not been advertised by Samsung obviously. This phone was advertised briefly on the UK homepage of the MobiCity site, as well as its Australian counterpart, the latter offering a fairly full specification. That includes a larger 4.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1280x720-pixel resolution, a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot, an eight-megapixel camera and an NFC chip. Android 2.3 is the OS at launch.

If it's coming to the UK, it's likely to land fairly sharpish, as yet another Samsung big gun is also rumoured to be launching soon – the Samsung Galaxy S III. A photo has emerged of a handset not a million miles away from the Galaxy Note, but not the Note (if that makes sense). It briefly appeared on a video to commemorate Samsung's press conference at CES 2012, showing a handset with a bigger screen than the 4.3-inch Galaxy S II.

It could be a mock up, but that would seem a little extreme for a brief appearance in a video. Nothing else is known about the handset, but if it does launch at MWC and the specification is cutting edge, it might just steal the show.
