BlackBerry Bold 9790 priced for contract

Not long ago, we mentioned that the BlackBerry Bold 9790 had been priced SIM-free, but that contract rates were still awaited. Well, just a few days down the line (and a few days ahead of a proposed shelf date), we have those prices. At least, we do if you want one via Phones 4u.

The retailer has published rates for several networks, with the cheapest being at O2, which is offering a two-year contract with 500MB of all-important data, free Wi-Fi, 100 minutes and 500 texts each month for £21.50. The handset, of course, is free. If that's a little light, other deals are offered on O2, Orange and Vodafone, ranging all the way up to £37 per month, bumping up the data, text and call limits in the process. If you want to find the right one for you, check out the site or call into the store.

Alternatively, see each of those individual networks, all of which will have deals, even if they haven't officially released their prices as yet. Also, as we previously mentioned, you can get one SIM-free for £342. The shelf date for the SIM-free model was this Friday (20 January). We can assume the contract phones are shipping from this date too.

If you missed it, the Bold 9790, which is an updated, thinner version of the Bold 9780, has both a touch-screen and QWERTY access, along with BlackBerry OS 7 for the operating system, plus BBM, push email, a full version of Documents to Go, a five-megapixel camera and an NFC chip. Pretty much everything you need from a BlackBerry – and yours, hopefully, from this Friday.
