Motorola Defy+ gets even harder

Our punishing Motorola Defy+ review proved the slender smartphone was tougher than a concrete Michael Myers – it survived all kinds of abuse, including a Psycho-style knife attack and a dip in our G&T. It's no surprise then that Motorola has teamed up with JCB to create a special version of the Android handset, aimed at construction specialists and engineers.

As well as a visco-elastic JCB plastic sleeve, the super-hard new Motorola Defy+ also comes with some useful built-in apps, including a spirit level, decibel meter, calculator, unit converter and DIY store locator. Fair enough, most of those can be quickly downloaded for free from the Android Market already. But the sleeve gives the Defy+ a ‘don't mess with me or I'll gouge your liver out' look, which we rather like.

The Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition also includes a car charger with an extra long curly cable. It is available to purchase in UK stores now from £259.99.
