Sneaking in just in time for Christmas, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is available to pre-order today for £499 – and as a promo, its Eee Pad predecessor is going for just £299 (16GB) until Dec 30.
With the Transformer Prime, Asus have left no hardware unturned to create what's easily the most powerful tablet out right now – Tegra 3 quad-core chip, eight-megapixel camera with large f/2.4 aperture and HD video recording, and an even brighter Super IPS+ screen for better outdoor visibility.
It's available in 'Amethyst Gray' and 'Champagne Gold' (below).
Though it'll launch with Android Honeycomb 3.2, an over-the-air update to Ice Cream Sandwich will be pushed through 'soon'.
The Transformer Prime comes with a mobile dock that will charge the tablet as well as a keyboard, touchpad, USB port and SD card to turn the tablet all laptop-like. Asus is also offering 8GB of free cloud storage via its WebStorage service, which trumps iOS's 5GB and Dropbox's 2GB.
Our previous report has the specs, and if you like what you see, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime (including dock) can be had for £499, and is currently on pre-order on a ton of retailers including Amazon, PC World and John Lewis. The actual tablets will ship from January.
The Eee Pad Transformer is available for £299 (16GB) – or £399 with dock – and £349 (32GB).
