LG Prada 3.0 smartphone caught on camera

We heard it was hitting the shelves in 2012, but now the first shots of the LG Prada 3.0 smartphone have appeared online, just prior to the official launch.

Those images show that black once again dominates, but you knew that would be the case anyway. But what we didn't know originally (and do know now) is much of the specification of this seriously fashionable smartphone. That is said to includes a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch NOVA display with WVGA resolution, HSPA+, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity plus an FM tuner, which seems almost out of place on a premium piece like this.

Looks are just as important with this particular smartphone, which boasts a 'Prada-inspired' texture for the exterior and is just 8.5mm thick. As for the operating system, it's said to be shipping next year with Android Gingerbread on board, although an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is likely to follow.

An imminent press event will fill in the gaps and hopefully offer up a launch schedule for the UK. Keep an eye out for details of that in the coming hours.
